With this launch, we’ve introduced the first set of features unlocked by this new type of connection. Two users who’ve accepted each other as Trusted Connections (available for 13+ users only) will have access to private voice chat and unfiltered text chat with each other. In the future, we will use this distinction to unlock additional features appropriate to the strength of the connection. After this ui comes out of beta, will there be an option to use the old ui? Some people won’t like using the new ui for productivity reasons and personal preferences, I personally know some developers that won’t like it. Why can’t you just keep the old UI?
Your experience will go live again as soon as it has a content maturity label. Although, for the sake of plugin developers, is there a palette or style rule for the new design? This has been available as opt-in for some time, so now we are making this improved experience the default for creators who are automatically enrolled in the beta feature. While we’re entering the next stage of development for Studio, you’re still able to opt-out by navigating to ‘File’, ‘Beta Features’, and unchecking Next Gen Studio Preview.
While this isn’t a entirely bad move i believe that this move specifically misses the point of the entire issue people have been trying to signal to you all. Starting today, users and parents can find default minimum ages alongside content maturity labels on Experience Pages. This change is live now on the web, and coming soon on the mobile app. The default minimum age is generally based on content descriptors generated from the experience questionnaire, but can be adjusted based on creator settings, user settings, or parental controls. We believe every public experience on Roblox should have a content maturity label so users and parents can make informed decisions about experiences they play. To achieve this goal, we are asking creators who have not already, to complete the Maturity & Compliance questionnaire by September 30, 2025 to ensure their experiences remain playable.
What’s Next for Studio’s New UI?

We want to explain the thinking behind our decision to rename “Friends” to Connections. From Roblox’s inception as “DynaBlocks” in 2004 (officially Roblox in 2006), social interaction and building community have always been core to our experience. The “friend” system was a straightforward way for users to connect, play together, and communicate. People have been able to do this since the unicode characters were available. As part of our continuing work to keep Roblox safe and secure and to prevent account farming and exploits, we are updating our policy on running Roblox in third-party emulators. Starting today, we are restricting general player access from emulators to better protect the user experience.

When you have your rig added, open the plugin of your choosing and select the rig, this will set the rig you have to be the main active rig. Open source places are made for studio use—not to be actual games so developers won’t care about the questionary, and people also don’t play them nor favorite them because people will edit them and download them. I completely agree, the amount of wasted space that the new ribbon has is a little absurd, and it seemingly does so for no other reason than they want it to look sleek and modern. Older Roblox games are lightly active and not all of them are popular, there needs to be a better way to go with this. What happens if moderation rejects my questionnaire?
I played around a little with the rig yesterday and I managed to add new bones.The problem is the custom properties that imported rigs get when imported with the plugin. You cant replicate those.And so I imported my custom r6 with a handle in each arm and redid the constraints to your rig. It would have maybe been possible to isolate the handles and add them to your rig and I did try but I failed. For example, always wished you could have your favorite plugin in the Home tab? Simply right click on the Home tab, duplicate it, hide the original, and add whatever tool you’d like to the new copy.

Why are you focused on rating against unproblematic experiences, versus enforcing against explicit experiences?
I was working on an in development build of my game and set up the Questionnaire prematurely and put “Strong Language” When my game only contained a baseplate, Assets, and No code. These refinements will make Studio a more personalized and collaborative development experience with enhanced performance and stability.
